Our History
Maxibrite Limited was incorporated in 1962. For more than 50 years, we have produced high quality briquettes from our manufacturing facility based in Llantrisant, South Wales, with production volumes up to 70,000 tonnes per annum. Over the years we’ve extended our range of solid fuels to include coal and wood products. When buying online from Maxibrite, you buy direct from a UK manufacturer. As with most industries, our products and processes have seen significant change over time. Our continued investment in our briquette manufacturing facility ensures that we produce efficiently using the latest technologies, whilst ensuring that we continue to produce to the highest of standards. This allows us to offer quality products at great prices to our customers.
We offer a range of HETAS and DEFRA approved smokeless fuels for safe use in smoke control areas. Our in-house laboratory performs testing every day on all our manufactured products to ensure the highest of quality.
In 2009, Maxibrite became part of Hargreaves Services Group plc. Hargreaves is a UK leader in the solid fuel market, with a history of operating various coal sites across the UK. With access to Hargreaves coal expertise and products, Maxibrite can offer a range of both high-quality briquettes and coal. The majority of our products are all manufactured and mined in the United Kingdom, with the addition of some imported speciality coals to meet our customer requirements.
Our partnership with Fuelsell extends our product range to include a full range of wood products, including kiln dried logs which are dried in Norfolk.

Through our website, we are pleased to offer sales of product in full, half and quarter pallets, delivered across the UK. We dispatch direct from our manufacturing and packing facilities, which allows us to avoid unnecessary costs and pass on great prices to our customers who buy directly from us.
